Easy Tips for Planning a Healthy Diet & Sticking to It

There are many things you can do to improve your overall health, but one of the most important is eating a healthy diet. This does not mean “going on a diet”, necessarily, but does mean adjusting the foods you eat to better fuel your body and help you get healthy.

The most important tip is that you should focus on creating a diet you can stick to for the long haul. While cutting out all fast food from your diet may be a good thing, if you travel a lot, it may not be practical. Instead, you may want to limit your fast food intake, make smarter choices or exercise portion control.

Another important tip is that you should make sure you are eating enough fruits and vegetables. These foods have plenty of nutrition and less calories than other food groups. Therefore, you can get full without using too many calories. Start a meal with a salad (topped with low-cal dressing or lemon juice) and you are less likely to overeat higher calorie foods.
