Frequently Asked Questions

Captive agents work for only one insurance company. Meanwhile, an independent agent does not work for any particular insurance company but rather can sell policies from an array of companies. As independent agents, we negotiate with multiple A-rated insurance companies on your behalf to secure the best rate with the best coverage for your needs.

You will not be locked into one provider year after year. We also do not charge an agency fee on top of your insurance coverage.

No! Dean Davis Insurance is committed to providing you the best service at the best price with no additional brokerage fees. Some independent insurance brokers will charge agency broker fees on top of the policy amount. It is a legal and customary practice for insurance brokers to charge additional fees as long as they disclose the amount they are charging you as a fee via a document that you must sign.

Not always. Despite what you may hear in commercials, bundling your home and auto insurance is not always cheaper. In fact, about 80% of the time, it is cheaper to purchase them separately. We always outline the cost differences between each option and discuss trade-offs. We are not incentivized to talk you into something that you don’t need.

Yes! We offer a variety of ways you can pay your insurance bills based on your preferences. Some of which, including, paying annually provides deep discounts to your overall cost. We will make sure to call out all of the ways you can cut costs on an ongoing basis.

Yes, but don’t worry, we take care of it for you. Policies are usually renewed every six months-one year depending on how they are set up. A month prior to your policy end date, we will proactively shop your renewal policy with all of our insurance carriers to assess the best deal at that time. It may be a simple renewal with your existing carrier or it may be a new deal that we secured with a different carrier. We do the heavy lifting and will give you a call when it comes time to renew to provide our recommendation.

While we all like saving money, the cheapest policy is not always the best. “Stripped” policies do not always have you and your family’s best interest in mind, and you may end up being underinsured if an accident happens. With over a century of combined insurance experience, we understand the ins and outs of different policies and carriers and will help you understand what you need and what you don’t while keeping the costs as low as possible.

Multiple factors contribute to your personalized rate, including your driving history, credit history, age, marital status, type of car you drive/home you live in, etc. As a part of the intake process, we will help gather all pertinent information to make sure you are getting the best rate possible for your situation.
